Terms of Service

LandedPulse calculates estimated landed cost for a shipment from an HS code, a customs value, an origin and a destination. Each calculation produces a report showing the duty, surcharge and tax components that make up the estimate, along with the official rate expressions the calculation was derived from.

The service currently covers United States HTS Column 1 General rates and European Union TARIC third-country duty. Routes outside that scope are refused before any charge is made, and the refusal names the reason.

A LandedPulse report is an estimate produced from published tariff schedules. It is not a customs ruling, not a binding tariff classification, and not legal or customs brokerage advice. The classification of goods under an HS code is your responsibility, and an incorrect classification produces an incorrect estimate no matter how accurate the underlying rates are.

Final amounts owed are determined by the customs authority of the destination country at the time of clearance. Rates change, and a shipment cleared weeks after a calculation may be assessed differently. You should not treat a report as the amount that will be charged.

You are responsible for the credentials on your account and for activity carried out under it. Accounts are for use by the organisation that registered them; sharing credentials outside that organisation is not permitted.

You must provide accurate registration details. We may suspend an account we believe was registered with false information or is being used to resell the service without agreement.

Calculations consume credits. A credit is consumed when a calculation completes and a report is produced — not when a calculation is requested, and not when a route is refused. A refused calculation costs nothing.

Credits are held in separate balances depending on how they were acquired, and are consumed in the order shown on your dashboard. Monthly allowance credits included with a subscription expire at the end of the billing cycle they were granted for. Credits purchased outright do not expire.

Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred between accounts, and are not exchangeable for anything other than calculations on this service.

Payments are processed by Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for every transaction. Your contract of sale for the purchase is with Paddle, and Paddle handles billing, tax collection and payment disputes. Paddle terms apply to the payment itself in addition to these terms.

Subscription plans renew automatically at the interval stated at purchase until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing portal linked in the application.

You may not attempt to circumvent credit accounting, access data belonging to another account, probe the service for vulnerabilities without written permission, or use automated means to extract the tariff data underlying the service in bulk.

We apply rate limits to protect availability. Sustained traffic that degrades the service for other customers may be throttled or blocked.

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

We are not liable for customs penalties, storage costs, clearance delays, lost sales or any other consequential loss arising from reliance on an estimate. This is the direct consequence of the service producing estimates rather than determinations, and it is stated here so that the limit is not a surprise.

We may change these terms. Material changes will be announced by email to the address on your account before they take effect, and the effective date at the top of this page will be updated.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, and where we do so for a reason other than breach we will refund unconsumed credits purchased outright.
